Ecological Contracting Supervisor / Arborist

£24,000 - £30,000pa depending on experience and certifications, paid overtime, staying away allowance, annual training budget.

Exciting and diverse conservation landscaping role based near Chipping Sodbury with a specialist Ecological Consultancy and Contracting company delivering a diverse range of habitat creation and mitigation schemes focused around biodiversity net gain, protected species conservation and green space enhancement/accessibility on a landscape scale.

Keystone have a permanent full-time position available for an individual with arborist experience at site supervisor level. Successful applicants for this role will lead teams on site carrying out a broad range of land management, habitat creation and wildlife mitigation projects, including arboricultural and tree surgery works with an ecological cause.

You must be a competent and diligent individual prepared to work hard as part of a team and/or lead a team in an outdoor environment. You must have arboricultural experience and competence, be able to take the lead on at height works such as tree management and bat box installation, and maintain health and safety, and quality standards on site. The role would suit an individual with tree surgery experience, looking to broaden their horizons.

Experience operating and maintaining machinery is advantageous with training offered for an exciting range of in-house plant.

You would need to live within commuting distance of the Chipping Sodbury area and be prepared to work throughout the UK.

Skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Well-rounded practical experience in an outdoor environment
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • CSCS Card
  • CS30/31/38 (or current NPTC equivalent) with suitable experience as a tree surgeon/arborist


Desirable:

  • Brush-cutter experience
  • Chainsaw CS39/40 (or current NPTC equivalent)
  • Trailer towing competency
  • PA1 & PA6 herbicide application
  • Wood-chipper ticket
  • Tractor operations
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
