Ecological Contracting Operative

£20,000 - £24,000pa depending on experience and certifications, paid overtime, staying away allowance, annual continued professional development budget.

Exciting and diverse conservation landscaping role based near Chipping Sodbury. Keystone is a specialist Ecological Consultancy and Contracting company delivering a diverse range of habitat creation and mitigation schemes focused around biodiversity net gain, protected species conservation and green space enhancement and accessibility on a landscape scale.

Keystone have a permanent full-time position available for an individual at site operative level. Successful applicants for this role will work as part of a team on site carrying out a broad range of land management, habitat creation and wildlife mitigation projects.

You must be a competent and diligent individual prepared to work hard as part of a team in an outdoor environment whilst working in a range of sectors and sites.

In addition to supporting a team in delivering works on time and to specification, candidates will be expected to maintain excellent health & safety and quality standards on site.

Experience operating and maintaining machinery would be advantageous with training offered for an exciting range of in-house and contracted plant.

You would need to live within commuting distance of the Chipping Sodbury area and be prepared to work throughout the UK.

Skills and qualifications:

1. Essential

  • Well-rounded practical experience in an outdoor environment
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • CSCS Card


2. Desirable:

  • Brush-cutter experience
  • Chainsaw CS30/31/38 (or current NPTC equivalent)
  • Trailer towing competency
  • PA1 & PA6 herbicide application
  • Wood-chipper ticket
  • Tractor operations
  • SSSTS
