Area Conservation Ranger - North Fylde

Salary: £24,496 - £26,845

Become the face and voice of our open spaces, be a conservation guardian and a devotee of all things outdoors!

We are looking for an energetic, skilled and friendly individual to join our Ranger Service to help keep Fylde's coastline, countryside and green spaces attractive and sustainable.

You will play a key role in helping to protect some of the most naturally spectacular stretches of coastline in Lancashire, from Leafy Lytham in the south, the sweeping beaches of St. Annes and the stunning sand dunes to the North. You will also play a fundamental part in promoting and improving Fylde's heritage parks and spectacular rural countryside. Come rain or shine, your dedication to the outdoors will inspire others as you strive to ensure that Fylde's environment and biodiversity is protected, beautifully cared for and continues to take our visitors breath away.

Candidates need to have a passion for wildlife, superb people skills and a background in managing land for nature conservation. You will work closely with the Senior Coast & Conservation Officer on existing projects as well as identifying exciting new ones, building these into a structured Ranger Service annual work programme. You will also be business minded and appreciate the need for the service to generate income, which will play a key role in the teams growth, sustainability and success.

You will be responsible for communicating with a wide range of audiences, both new and existing, through environmental education, events, guided walks and volunteer programmes. You will also build a good relationships with the local community, being an identifiable, uniformed presence that provides visitors with a sense of welcome and personal safety.
