We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and character of the Yorkshire Dales. Set against expansive heather moorland tops, each valley has its own distinct charm, from crags and pavements to an underground labyrinth of caves.
We’re currently looking for a Senior Historic Environment Officer to join us on a full-time basis at our Bainbridge office near Leyburn. Due to current restrictions, this role will initially be based from home.

The Role
As a Senior Historic Environment Officer, you will lead a team to promote and widen public understanding of the special historic environment of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Developing and monitoring our historic environment strategy, you will deliver actions that support the National Park Management Plan and develop projects to support at risk buildings and monuments.
The team you manage will form a key part of the planning application process and will consult on planning applications and agri-environment schemes. You will ensure best practice is followed so that services and development can continue whilst the Park’s heritage is preserved.
