Forestry England is the largest land manager and custodian of the nationís public forests. We have around 1,000 committed staff looking after more land and more trees than any other organisation. Itís a job that never stops growing. 

 

We are looking for a talented and experienced Recreation and Public Affairs Manager to join our South Forest District, which manages 46,000 hectares of forest across West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset and South Wiltshire. We have over 20 million visitors to our forests each year, providing a range of different recreational facilities and activities that help support peopleís health and Wellbeing and the local economy.

 

As Recreation and Public Affairs Manager you will be a self-motivated individual interested in making a positive impact to our visitor experience - coaching, motivating and developing our team of dedicated recreation staff in the east of our District. Youíll have excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with a range of commercial partners, local authorities and National Park Authorities to help grow our recreation offer. Youíll also help manage and support the development of our community engagement, volunteering, learning and permissions opportunities.
