Nature Reserve Woodland Management Officer

Salary: £22,185 plus 5% pension

Closing date: Sunday 8 September (midnight)

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and practical person with a strong background in Woodland management to join our nature reserves team. You will take a lead in the coordination and management of Ash Dieback and other woodland pest / diseases across all Devon Wildlife Trustís land holding.

 

The immediate focus will be to deliver DWTís response to Ash Dieback across 36 nature reserves, progressing felling licences, managing contractors and leading DWT staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in practical woodland management, working within the constraints of FC felling licences, ensure protected species and protected designated sites requirements are met.    

 

The role will have a strong practical focus and the candidate will need to be physically capable of extended periods of felling through the winter months.
