Logo: GroundworkGreen Space Project Officer

 

At Groundwork, we are passionate about the importance of green spaces and the benefits they provide to the health and quality of peoplesí lives, the environment and the local economy. We are looking to recruit a Green Space Project Officer to help us deliver a range of projects to improve public green spaces and community engagement with sites primarily within the Wigan Borough.

 

You will work as part our Communities Team, supporting communities to become more active and resilient, developing and improving public green spaces to build greener, safer stronger neighbourhoods, tackling the impacts of climate change and improving health and wellbeing.

 

Your role will involve working with volunteers, groups of young people and friends of groups to plan and undertake regular volunteering activities and events that contribute to the management, maintenance and improvement of public green spaces.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of Friends Groups and individual volunteers as well as preparing training and educational activities.

 

Current projects include Amberswood and Elnup Wood in Wigan. The role requires flexibility in taking on and delivering other projects in Wigan and Lancashire as required and dictated by secured funding.
