Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) looks after Scotlandís forests and land, for the benefit of all, now and for the future.

 

We are looking for motivated and passionate team members to join our Forest Management team. There are 6 posts available across Scotland, 5 permanent and 1 fixed term (until April 2020).

 

The key responsibilities for the role will include:

 

  • You will be required to complete tasks such as, but not limited to:
  • Chainsaw work (basic felling/windblow and tree safety works);
  • Clearing saw (scrub clearance/strimming) and pesticide and herbicide weeding;
  • Grass cutting/maintenance of visitor facilities e.g. paths, trails and visitor areas;
  • Restock and replacement planting and fence surveys and construction;
  • General estate maintenance and presentation of structures, e.g. picnic benches, signs and waymarkers;
  • Assist in carrying out risk assessments, while taking a positive approach to Health & Safety;
  • Assist in the protection of the forest estate, including firefighting and waste disposal.
