Cranborne Chase and Chalke Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme

Finance and Support Officer (PT: 3 days a week)

Post: Fixed term contract until 30/06/2024

Salary: £20,344 – 21,589 pro rata

Base: Near Tollard Royal, Wiltshire

Closing date: 11pm Sunday 22nd September 2019

Do you have the passion, drive, experience and enthusiasm to help deliver a new, innovative five-year scheme comprising 20 ambitious projects? The Cranborne Chase and Chalke Valley Landscape Partnership has been awarded £1.68m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Together with partner match funding, this £2.7m scheme aims to enhance the natural, historic and cultural heritage of this stunning, historic landscape through encouraging widespread community engagement and involvement.

You will be responsible, as part of a small team, for successful scheme delivery by 2024 and for ensuring it creates lasting memories and a legacy for the area. The team will comprise a Landscape Partnership Manager (FT), a Countryside Ranger/Volunteer Co-ordinator (FT), Heritage and Community Engagement Officer (FT), a Communications Officer (PT) and this post. The Landscape Partnership team will form part of, and be supported by, the Cranborne Chase AONB team.

Could you play the crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful day to day running of what will be a very busy office? Your skills will not only embrace booking venues and providing the secretariat for a whole range of Landscape Partnership related meetings but guaranteeing efficient and effective office operation and providing superior customer service to the team, all partners, stakeholders and the public.

You will be responsible, alongside the Manager, for regularly monitoring complex Landscape Partnership budgets and the submission of accurate and timely grant aid claims to the Heritage Fund and/or other external funding bodies as appropriate. You will be responsible for the processing of invoices and will require a knowledge of finance systems. You will also ensure that all financial aspects of the Scheme comply with Heritage Lottery Fund’s regulations including those for procurement and acknowledgement of grant aid.

You will have at least 3 years track record of similar work with excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and a working knowledge of Powerpoint would be useful, as would be the ability to use social media. You will be responsible for ensuring all databases are kept up to date and will work closely with the Communications Officer.  You may be asked to turn your hand to many tasks such as researching topics for team members through web or telephone enquiries; be closely involved with organising small or major events, handling bookings, assist in the development of displays and generally contribute to the ongoing delivery of the scheme’s twenty projects wherever possible.

Your friendly and helpful approach to enquirers, organised and methodical approach to office management, together with a positive attitude to problem solving will be distinctive qualities you bring to this pivotal post. Your enthusiasm and contribution to teamwork will be fundamental to the ongoing, successful delivery of the Landscape Partnership Scheme.
