This Conservation Officer role will be key in developing and delivering our work programme across the Humber Estuary and its hinterland, focusing on delivering for priority estuarine, coastal, wetland and farmland habitats and species.
    

This will be achieved by deploying the appropriate conservation tools to ensure we achieve our conservation objectives. This will include site safeguard casework, species recovery, land management advice, conservation projects and engagement in land use and marine policy. 

 

The successful candidate will have a key role in managing and delivering projects, in association with RSPB colleagues. This includes those led by RSPB and RSPB's delivery in wider partnerships, particularly within the Humber priority landscape. The Conservation Officer will have an important external role, building positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders so that RSPB's policies and messages are understood and furthered within relevant partnerships and fora. The role will help to monitor and report on the work plan and to develop further work plans and/or project ideas. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute operational experience to RSPB's policy and advocacy work and contribute to the delivery of RSPB funding and communications objectives, particularly through communicating our conservation messages.
  
As a delivery focused individual with a track record of getting things done for nature, the successful candidate will relish the challenges and opportunities presented by the Humber. Using drive, energy, ecological knowledge, excellent communication and sound conservation decision-making skills, the Humber Conservation Officer will be critical in maximising the area of land well managed for nature around the Humber Estuary, making a real difference to the Humber and its internationally important wildlife.
