Casual Outdoor Learning Assistants 

Salary: £8.51 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Duration: Open-ended, subject to funding  

Location: SRWT HQ, Stafford Road, Sheffield, J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, Abbey lane, Sheffield and region-wide work sites

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trustís outdoor learning team provide amazing opportunities for children and young people to engage with nature all across the region. We are currently looking to expand our delivery team and are especially interested in hearing from you if you have experience of:

  • Delivering learning objectives at KS1 and KS2
  • Delivering STEM or Geography at KS3, KS4 or KS5
  • Delivering PE sessions to children of all ages

 

The position is being offered on a casual basis which means that whilst SRWT will try to provide as much notice as possible when offering work, there will be no obligation for them to offer a minimum amount of hours or for the Casual Outdoor Learning Assistant to accept any work so offered. The amount of hours offered will vary depending on business needs.

 

Applicants will ideally have at least six monthís relevant experience and be able to work independently to deliver high quality workshops to groups of around thirty children at a time. They should have a good level of physical fitness, excellent customer service skills along with knowledge of ecology and nature conservation.

 

Knowledge and understanding of delivering the national curriculum is essential. Relevant qualifications such as Forest Schools, teaching or sports coaching along with a first aid certificate and full driving licence would be an advantage.  An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role.
