Fixed Term Contract to 31 March 2020

Salary 25463 to 27.585 per annum pro rata

Anticipated hours will be between 15-30 per week for the period up to the 31st March 2019, and 15-18.75 hours per week for the period 1st April 2019 31st March 2020. There is potential for flexibility on hours to be available to the right candidate.


The RSPB are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic archaeologist who is excited by the possibilities of integrated management of the historical environment with natural habitats.


You will work alongside your colleague in Scotland to provide high quality advice and support to the reserves teams across England and Wales on site conservation management and the implications for the historic environment of habitat creation and management projects. Using your practical knowledge of the planning system, field survey and monitoring, you will be able to engage and create positive relationships both internally and with external agencies. This will facilitate your ability will be to fulfil one of the main aims of this post to extend our GIS records to include archaeological sites, adding to the database that has been created and populated for reserves in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
