We are seeking a dynamic, creative Project Officer to provide project management and administrative support, working with the Project Leader to ensure the successful delivery of the £1.2m ‘Durlston Pleasure Grounds’ Parks for People HLF Project. You will have experience of managing projects and liaising with stakeholders and contractors. You will lead on developing a training programme, developing health and wellbeing outcomes and creating opportunities for people with disabilities to visit and volunteer.


Durlston Country Park National Nature Reserve is owned and managed by Dorset County Council for people and wildlife. Wildflower meadows, woodland, downland, sea cliffs and award-winning Durlston Castle, attract 250,000+ visitors per annum.


With funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘Parks for People’ programme, the project will revitalise and celebrate the Grade II listed landscape of the ‘Durlston Pleasure Grounds’ for nature and community.


Summary of the Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Co-ordinate delivery of the Activity Plan, including developing training, engagement and health and wellbeing proposals
  • Day-to-day management of project budget
  • Support appointment of project contractors
  • Project recording, monitoring and regular reporting to the Heritage Lottery Fund
  • Key point of contact for Evaluation, Arts, Project Management, Quantity Surveyor and contract support contractors
  • Maintain communications with partners, funders and stakeholders
  • Manage delivery of project Communications Plan and Transport Plan
  • Develop processes and formats for recording of information during the project
  • Contribute creatively to proposals
  • Raise awareness of the project through talks and presentations to partners and the public
