Summary

 

Do you have a passion for developing and growing strong partnerships with local organisations, planning and facilitating practical conservation work and community events? You'll be involved in a great deal of small scale projects in collaboration with partners and local people, helping to maintain a strong working relationship throughout the National trust. You will be part of the national Green Academies Project, funded by our Bright Future, which is running in and around 6 National Trust places and will be accountable for the delivery of the project at Morden Hall Park.

 

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What you'll be doing

 

You will work with partners to develop and deliver opportunities for young people aged 11-24 to build the skills and confidence needed to take ownership of their local green spaces and become advocates for the environment. You will work with Rangers who will deliver this on the ground; working with local young people and their communities at Morden Hall Park and on partnerís land. At this stage in the project a key part of the role will be to ensure the legacy of the work by being strategic in decision-making and building confidence and capability in property teams and partners.

 

Who we're looking for

 

To deliver this role successfully, youíll need to have:

  • Knowledge of good practice in relation to youth and community engagement, including safeguarding
  • Experience of working with volunteers, communities and young people from a range of background and cultures
  • Experience of planning and delivering engagement activities and events
  • Interest in heritage and Conservation
  • The ability to network effectively and get people on board with new ideas
  • Knowledge of project management and budget management
  • Use of a initiative and ability to manage own workload
  • Good influencing skills and the ability to speak and write persuasively
  • Ability to use social media effectively
  • Confident in meeting new people and the ability to communicate with people from different sectors
