The British Horse Society is the nationís leading equine charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.


We are the leading charity working to protect, extend and promote safe access for equestrians. As the biggest voice for equestrians on access matters, our communications to our members, the public and government are vital to our success. Our team at HQ work closely with volunteers and equestrian access groups in the UK who we recruit, train and support.


As a member of the Access team this key role will involve the sourcing, writing and editing of content for our communication streams which include BHS printed and digital publications, monthly newsletters, website pages, local and national magazines, press and social media.


You will play an active part of our volunteer and Equestrian Access Group recruitment, training and support programme, and be responsible for the organisation of our National Conference, public events, and campaigns.


The successful applicant will be of graduate calibre with proven experience of writing for public communications and have strong people skills. You should have exceptional creative writing and proof reading skills as well as some knowledge of desk top publishing softwares, social media, and the management of marketing lists.


You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent team-working and public communication skills. You will have a flexible attitude to occasional weekend work and travelling around Britain.


Although equestrian and/or access and rights of way knowledge is beneficial in this role, this is not essential and training could be provided for the right candidate.
