We have great opportunity based at our Shuttleworth College campus for a Lecturer to become a key member of our Animal Sciences department.

 

As Lecturer - Animal Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through: 

 

  • The preparation, delivery and assessment of subjects on Animal Care and Animal subjects within both FE and HE provision
  • Provision of a high-quality learning experience
  • Contribution to developments of the Animal Sciences curriculum.
  • Undertaking necessary course administration

 

Our ideal candidates will have knowledge of current issues and developments within the animal care sector and recent experience as a Lecturer or Instructor in Animal Science, alongside the following qualifications:

 

  • Degree and / or relevant vocational qualifications
  • English and Maths GCSE at Grace A*-C or equivalent
  • PGCE/Cert Ed of a willingness to obtain

Contract Type - Bedford College

 

37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year

 

  • Trainee Lecturer - from GBP 20,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience / 35 days holiday per annum, plus public holidays
  • Qualified Lecturer (i.e. PGCE/Cert Ed) - from GBP 25,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience / 45 days holiday per annum, plus public holidays

 

If you join us as a Trainee Lecturer, it will be a requirement of the post to undertake the PGCE / Cert Ed qualification, funded by The Bedford College Group.

 

An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
