Logo: RSPBAre you an enthusiastic conservationist with the skills and ambition to make a real difference for nature? Do you want to play a key role in the conservation of a diverse range of species and habitats on the amazing Suffolk Coast?

Conservation Officer
Reference: 7DaZd-12
Location: Suffolk
Salary starting at: 25,463 to 27,585 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

Working closely with the Senior Conservation Officer and the Area Team, you will be working at the landscape scale to address the many challenges nature on the Suffolk Coast is facing and make the most of new opportunities.

This may include work to protect breeding waders and heathland birds, working with our partners to develop projects to create new habitat, and championing policies that would protect nature and help species adapt to a changing climate. Your conservation experience will enable you to help develop and deliver the improvement, restoration and creation of high-quality habitat for priority species across the Suffolk Coast, utilising your understanding of heathland, wetland and coastal habitats and their species, and of conservation land management techniques.

You will need to be a confident communicator, with excellent organisational and project management skills, and the drive to make things happen. Experience of casework (dealing with planning, policy or site safeguard work) would also be valuable, but your ability to build positive relationships and quickly learn and apply new knowledge will be most important. Experience of supporting and/or delivering work at a landscape-scale would also be desirable.

If this sounds like the job for you, we'd love to hear from you.
