Salary: 27,434 - 32,322 per annum (depending on experience)

Full-time, permanent post (subject to 6 month probationary period)

Location: Based in Ebbw Vale, working across Eastern Valleys (Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Caerphilly [Islwyn]) but with some pan-Gwent and Wales work as necessary

Gwent Wildlife Trust (GWT) is seeking a Living Landscapes Manager with a strong background in wildlife conservation, landscape-scale partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.

As a proactive member of GWTs Management Team, you will help to develop, define and deliver GWTs work across the Eastern Valleys, an area with a fascinating blend of urban, peri-urban, post-industrial and upland habitats. Within the context of our new 5-year organisational strategy and a dynamic statutory funding environment within the Welsh environmental sector, the role offers growing opportunities to link the regions ecology with community well-being, training and education.

The post holder will develop and co-ordinate GWTs vitally important work on ecological connectivity and people engagement across our Eastern Valleys Living Landscape area. This entails managing a small team within an established Environmental Resource Centre (ERC) and helping to deliver existing projects and develop new initiatives for wildlife conservation. Outwardly, the post holder will represent GWT at a range of fora, and play an exciting and vital role in the development of relevant Landscape Partnerships - working closely with Natural Resources Wales (NRW), local authorities, Local Nature Partnerships, conservation organisations, local landowners, GWT members, volunteers, community organisations, schools/colleges and the general public.

Closing date for applications: 5pm Tuesday 9th October 2018. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed on Thursday 18th October 2018
