Salary: £33,465 plus 5% pension

Closing date: 10 November

Are you passionate about wetland conservation and river catchment restoration?

The Working Wetlands project is one of the largest natural catchment management schemes in the South West to improve water quality and build the resilience and sustainability of 6 major catchments across Devon as part of South West Water’s Upstream Thinking programme.

Working alongside South West Water and the Westcountry Rivers Trust, you will lead an ambitious programme of farm advice delivering 20,000 hectares into good environmental management and on-site physical interventions to restore and re-create species rich wet grasslands.

Supporting and working with landowners across Devon, the project aims to restore the water quality and ecological health of a number of key catchments including the Tamar, the Dart and the Exe.  The project is funded by South West Water.

This post will oversee and deliver the next phase of Upstream Thinking, including management of a staff team, capital budgets, agricultural machinery, and reporting of project outputs, in addition to some direct advisory work.  This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent appointment, based at DWT’s Cookworthy office near Holsworthy in North Devon.

We can offer you good terms and conditions and flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be joining a team of committed, hardworking and friendly colleagues. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career within a leading Devon charity.
