Role Purpose

 

Working with colleagues across NRW including in Evidence Policy and Permitting, Operations and Finance you will take a lead role in collating, analysing, interpreting, and reporting financial and resource management information to inform the future planning of effective and affordable environmental monitoring programmes. You will coordinate the governance arrangements in place to manage NRW’s monitoring and reporting service and track and report on key environmental monitoring performance metrics.

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Key Job Accountabilities:                               The post-holder will:

 

Collate, analyse, interpret and report financial and resource management data from a range of sources and from colleagues across EPP, Operations and Finance.

 

Provide timely and accurate information to senior managers to inform the implementation of affordable environmental monitoring programmes, and associated programmes of laboratory analysis and data management. 

 

Coordinate the governance arrangements set up to ensure effective management of NRW’s environmental monitoring service, including maintaining and managing the monitoring risk register.

 

Contribute to developing NRW’s strategic direction and annual programmes for environmental monitoring across air, land, freshwater and marine, ensuring it is fit to support our corporate outcomes and meet our statutory obligations.

 

Work with a range of colleagues across the organisation.

 

Key Job Qualifications or Knowledge:           

You will have good inter-personal skills and the ability to build effective relationships and work effectively across the organisation.

 

You will have well-developed numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to extract key information and present this in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences.

 

You will have the ability to develop a good understanding of NRW’s monitoring business.
