The Bright Water Landscape Partnership is a Heritage Lottery Fund supported project that will reveal, restore and celebrate the heritage of the Bright Water area. This includes its built, natural and cultural heritage. The project will run from 2018 for 4 years, and by its close will have invested over £3.2m in our heritage. The project is hosted by Durham Wildlife Trust.

 

Volunteer Reserves Officer 

 

Bright Water is seeking a volunteer reserves officer to assist the Bright Water Landscape Partnership.

 

An enthusiastic person with good communication skills, dedicated to nature conservation and working with people is required to assist in the delivery of a varied range of habitat and access management activities across Bright Waterís Landscape Partnership scheme area and Durham Wildlife Trustís nature reserves. Working with our accomplished volunteer teams you will gain valuable experience in volunteer leadership, reserves management and project development.

 

Applicants must hold a full driving licence, have good communication and people skills and a willingness to learn.

 

Full training is provided (including access to external courses) and travel expenses. Applicants will gain practical experience in conservation skills co-ordinating and leading tasks.

 

In addition an attractive training package is available which includes:

  • Chainsaw,
  • Pesticides,
  • First Aid,
  • Off Road (4◊4),
  • ATV, Brushcutter qualifications and access to  residential and vocational courses.
  • A well-established and comprehensive in-house training programme is also provided. Basic travel expenses are available.

 

This position requires a commitment for 12 months, working 3 days p/w (on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Interviews will be held on Tuesday 27th November 2018.
