Starting Salary: £21,693 pa progressing to £29,055 pa dependent on skills & experience

An exciting entry level opportunity has become available for a successful candidate to join our Countryside Management Team. By joining us you will gain valuable experience, working in an interesting and varied role and will receive support to develop your skills and experience in a dynamic, supportive environment.


About you:


  • A full current driving licence is essential
  • Capable in the practical delivery of countryside management activities
  • Experience of community engagement in outdoor volunteering
  • Able to work in an organised and professional manner, assimilate information from more experienced colleagues and develop skills quickly to make a meaningful contribution
  • Excellent IT literacy skills


About us:


We work in partnership with landowners and communities to manage our access network and develop projects that enhance the environment for people and wildlife. We also provide opportunities for informal recreation; leading events and guided walks, promoting cycle routes linking towns and the countryside and devising site based leaflets and interpretation. Our multi-disciplinary team currently benefits from qualifications and practical project delivery experience in the fields of: ecology, forestry, landscape architecture, habitat restoration, species reintroduction, reserves management, Rights of Way, community engagement and health improvement.


We have been accredited to the national Investing in Volunteers standard since 2010.


Responsibilities include:


  • Resourcing and supervising one of our three mid-week practical conservation volunteer groups
  • Delivering access and conservation improvements in greenspaces
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers to survey and improve our rights of way network
  • Working with local community based “friends” groups
