Countryside access and rights of way management in the county is changing.  These two new posts provide an exciting opportunity to play a central role in providing, maintaining and protecting access to the wonderful countryside of Oxfordshire.


This is your chance to be part of that change. Using your excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, combined with your experience and passion for countryside access, you will achieve the very best for Oxfordshire’s public paths and residents. Both day-to-day management and proactive development of the 2600-mile rights of way network will benefit from your commitment and initiative as you develop the service in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders.


We are looking for two knowledgeable and enthusiastic countryside access professionals. Firstly, a Principal Officer to lead and develop our multidisciplinary team, which currently includes area-based officers and a direct delivery countryside tasks team, working alongside other specialists leading on spatial data management and policy development.


We are also looking for a Technical Officer who will take on specific projects whilst supporting the Principal Officer and other members of the team, identifying and securing investment opportunities and developing inspection and delivery programmes.


The post includes generous leave, access to the local government pension scheme, as well as a car allowance.

Both posts are on career grades with wide salary scales. Starting point on these scales are negotiable depending on skills and experience, but we are looking to appoint towards the top of each grade.
