We are looking for a Graduate to work within Somerset Ecology Services (SES), providing ecological advice to ensure that Somerset County Council fulfil their duties under a range of ecological legislation.


As part of SES, you will be providing ecological advice to inform the planning process across Somerset councils. In addition, SES provide ecological advice to other Somerset County Council departments and provide ecological consultancy advice to third party/external clients such as developers and architects.


Working for SES, you will be at the forefront of improving ways of working for biodiversity, conservation and the planning process throughout Somerset and regularly work with statutory bodies, planners and NGOs on biodiversity initiatives that work towards Government targets of biodiversity net gain.


We are happy to consider all applicants at degree level as well as HND (level 5), higher apprentices, however degrees in Ecology, Zoology, Earth/Environmental Sciences or related STEM subjects would be desirable. You will be (or willing to become), a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
