The National Association for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Wales Development Manager

Salary: 42,000 pro rata

Hours: 30 hrs per week Two-year fixed term contract

Location: This is a home-based post by design.  We believe that by reducing travel we can maximise our contribution to sustainable development goals.  Proposals for a secondment arrangement to the NAAONB will be considered.

Purpose: To optimise opportunities for Welsh AONB partnerships to deliver on the priorities set out in the Welsh Government Policy document Valued and Resilient through supporting collaboration and collective action across designated landscapes in Wales.

Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) are some of the most cherished landscapes of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.  Wales has five AONBs that contain over 24,000 hectares of some of our most precious wildlife sites, attracting over 3 million visitors a year and providing a home for 57,000 people.  From the heather uplands of the Clwydian Range, through the coastal communities of Llŷn, Anglesey, and Gower, to the woods and rivers of the Wye Valley; all are different; all are special.

The National Association for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (NAAONB) is the umbrella charity for the AONBs in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland and works to develop a network of ambitious AONB partnerships with a strong collective voice, working collaboratively to deliver shared objectives.  We have the principles of sustainable development at our core, and this is reflected in everything we do.
