RRC Science and Technical Officer

(Full-time, 2-year Fixed Term contract)

Location: Cranfield University, Cranfield, Bedfordshire


We are seeking a Science and Technical Officer to lead our involvement in a Citizen Science EU Horizon 2020 project and to participate in the development of tools and techniques for river restoration.


Your main duty will be to coordinate RRC’s involvement in the EU Horizon 2020 MICS project. You will be responsible for the coordination of a series of river restoration and citizen science case studies across four countries.  This will involve communicating, travelling and undertaking the design and implementation of survey tools and techniques in the UK, Italy, Romania and Hungary. You will also work on the RRC’s other activities providing technical specialist advice, training, developing and delivering new training courses, and applying for and running research grants and scoping river restoration opportunities.


You will have a relevant postgraduate qualification (such as physical geography or geomorphology or similar) and be keen to work across physical and social science disciplines.
