 Part Time (3 days per week or equivalent).

Salary: £18,000 to £23,000 pro rata depending on level of experience of appointee.

 

Buxton Civic Association is seeking a manager /ranger to be responsible for the management of 65.36 ha of conservation and amenity woodland (in 9 sites) which surround the historic spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire, situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. One of the woods forms a large part of Buxton Country Park and contains SSSI quality limestone grassland. Buxton Civic Association (BCA) is a charitable trust that protects Buxton’s environment.

 

The Woodland Manager/Ranger’s responsibilities will include:    developing a management plan for each woodland, development and implementation of conservation, recreation and interpretation projects, rangering the woods, events and public engagement, small to medium scale practical woodland management tasks, contractor management, developing and managing conservation volunteers, budget control, servicing the Woodland Committee and Woodland Management Team

 

We're looking for a practical and versatile individual with hands on knowledge and experience of conservation and amenity woodland management and wardening /rangering who is able to work independently and with volunteer trustees.
