Starting Salary: £19,819 pa progressing to £23,866 pa dependent on skills and experience

Full Time Hours, Fixed Term Contract to 31/8/2019 (with possible extension subject to funding)


An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent environmental graduate to join our successful Countryside Management Team. By joining us you will gain valuable experience, working in an interesting and varied role and will receive support to develop your portfolio of skills and experience in a dynamic, supportive environment.


About you: 

  • Graduate calibre candidate looking to develop expertise and competence in land management
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to a career in countryside management, greenspace development or delivery of green infrastructure
  • Able to work in an organised and professional manner, assimilate information from more experienced colleagues and develop skills quickly to make a meaningful contribution
  • Excellent IT literacy skills
  • A full current driving licence is essential


About us:

Hertfordshire’s Countryside and Rights of Way Service works in partnership with landowners and communities to manage our access network and develop projects that enhance the environment for people and wildlife. We also provide opportunities for informal recreation through leading events and guided walks, promoting cycle routes linking towns and the countryside and devising site based leaflets and interpretation. Our multi-disciplinary team currently benefits from qualifications and practical project delivery experience in the fields of: ecology, forestry, arboriculture, landscape architecture, habitat restoration, species reintroduction, reserves management, access and Rights of Way, community engagement and health improvement.
