Based: Walthamstow Wetlands, 2 Forest Road, Tottenham, London, N17 9NH

Part-time 3 days per week (5 days per week from start until September 2018); fixed term until March 2020

Salary: £21,789 per annum pro rata (depending upon working week)

 

London Wildlife Trust are partnered with London Borough of Waltham Forest as an activity partner for the Walthamstow Wetlands project. To help deliver the Heritage Lottery funded activity plan for this, we are currently recruiting a Community Engagement Ranger. This is a great opportunity for you if you are passionate about urban nature conservation and want to get involved in a visionary project.

 

The main responsibility of the ranger post is to conserve and enhance Walthamstow Wetlands as a valuable and popular community asset which delivers environmental and community benefits in line with the Walthamstow Wetlands Activity Plan. The focus of this roll will be to deliver visitor engagement activities such as guided walks and community sessions. This will involve recruiting, inducting, training and managing visitor engagement volunteers to support the delivery of these programmes.

 

London Wildlife Trust manages more than 35 nature reserves across the capital that are exemplars of urban conservation land management and which greatly benefit the local communities that use these sites. The Trust delivers projects focusing on protecting priority habitats and wildlife species in London and works to influence policy makers to support this work. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work.
