We are looking for an experienced Park Ranger.  This is a post which will require commitment and initiative; working in a small team to help promote and develop Cobtree Manor Park.

 

You will need excellent organisation and communication skills. The ability to generate public interest and involvement in the care and maintenance of public green spaces is essential. Experience of supporting volunteers and delivering educational activities to schools and other groups is desirable.

 

It is desirable that you will have a qualification in either horticulture or conservation, with a good working knowledge of plants, trees and habitat management.

 

You will be required to undertake practical tasks using appropriate hand and powered tools, and to hold a current first aid certificate and a full driving licence.

 

The post will require flexible working arrangements and out of office hours working, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

 

The Council considers this to be a customer focused roles and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

The Council considers that the successful applicant will have access to young people and/or vulnerable adults and it is a requirement under The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 that you hold an enhanced disclosure and barring scheme check. Upon successful appointment, you will be required to provide evidence of an enhanced DBS check if you subscribe to the DBS Update Service or complete the process to obtain a DBS check.   

 

This is a full time position on a permanent contract.
