Seasonal Ecologist/Birder

Findlay Ecology Services Ltd is a growing consultancy based in the south of Scotland.

We have the need for a seasonal assistant who is proficient in bird identification and competent to undertake bird surveys. This will involve lone working in remote locations, often “out of hours” covered by safety protocols. It is essential for the applicant to have good bird skills, be field-savvy and physically fit. However, the bird surveys will be part of a much broader remit. You will also be expected to write survey reports.

Other field skills, particularly NVC, would be an advantage as would be GIS skills.

We are offering a full-time seasonal post at £18 000 to £20 000 pro rata. The anticipated start date is April 2nd 2018, although this is negotiable, to run to the end of July. Your own car is essential; mileage and any overnight expenses will be reimbursed.

Closing date for applications is March 21st . Interviews may be via Skype initially. The interview will include a bird identification test.

Please send in your CV which include two referees together with an example of your own written work (which will be treated with confidence) to Melanie.ingledew@btconnect.com
