Trees for Life- Dundreggan Nursery Worker

As part of our Caledonian Forest restoration strategy, Trees for Life is looking for some practical help to grow 60,000 trees in our Dundreggan Tree Nursery. With guidance from the Nursery Supervisor and as part of the Trees for Life Nursery Team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a new post to help propagate a range of native tree species, ready for planting to restore the Caledonian Forest in the Scottish Highlands. As well as seed sowing and caring for young tree seedlings, the enthusiastic post holder will have the opportunity to get involved with a range of other nursery tasks such as trialling new ways to propagate rare and hard-to-grow species, and learn from a team who have over 25 years combined experience.

This role will be based at our Dundreggan Conservation Estate in Glen Moriston.  The successful applicant will have an excellent eye for detail and good motor skills, helping to ensure a high level of consistency and success.  An appreciation for working outside is essential.   The post involves helping to supervise teams of dedicated volunteers, so the post holder should enjoy working with a range of different people from different backgrounds.

Contract Type: Temporary, fixed-term (April - July 2018), 4 days (28 hours) per week for 16 weeks.

Salary:  c. 8.75 per hour

To apply, please download the application pack below and return to jobs@treesforlife.org.uk.

Closing date for applications is the 15th March with interviews taking place at our Dundreggan Conservation Estate on the 22nd March.
