To manage, maintain, monitor, improve and protect the public rights of way network, other countryside access routes and access land to ensure that the Borough Council, as Highway Authority, meets its statutory obligations legally and technically and to ensure the availability of the networks and access land for public use.

Brighter Future

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Network Management & Enforcement Officer within our Public Rights of Way Team.  As part of the team based in Municipal Buildings, Crewe, you will be responsible for maintaining the Public Rights of Way network within a designated area of the Borough, sharing the role with another team member.


The role requires a mix of office work and independent fieldwork.  The role involves liaising with landowners to encourage goodwill and compliance with the legislation, together with following enforcement policies when required.  You will respond to enquiries and issues from the public and landowners, and manage budgets, materials and contractors to maintain and improve the network.

You will work a total of 18.5 hours per week either Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday, as agreed to fit with the other team member.
