The Belmont Estate is a beautiful and historic 250 acre country estate located within ten minutes of Bristol.  Its grade 2* listed parkland, ancient woodland and wildflower meadows are managed organically with a genuine commitment to ethical and sustainable land management and food production.  Our pedigree and rare/traditional breed livestock are farmed extensively, exclusively free range and matured slowly allowing us to offer the highest quality organic produce to our guests and visitors.  The careful management of our ancient woodland promotes productivity and biodiversity.  The by-products of which are used to make hard wood charcoal and firewood.  Whilst also investing in a series of significant build and infrastructure projects that will continue through 2019, we are growing an event and hospitality business alongside the working organic estate.




As part of the estate team, this wide ranging and important role is responsible for the upkeep, care and presentation of Belmont Estate and farm.  You are key to maintaining and promoting the estate’s profile within the local community and for guests and visitors, helping to protect and build the Belmont brand.


Areas of responsibility


Estate Maintenance and presentation

  • Gardens and pasture strimming, mowing, weeding and planting
  • Driveways and rides sweeping and upkeep
  • Hedging, fencing and boundaries trimming hedges, repairs and maintenance of fencing
  • Use of tools, vehicles and machinery (Training given where necessary)
  • Buildings & barns / outbuildings housekeeping and maintenance
  • An understanding of the importance of estate presentation and tidiness


Livestock Care

  • Feed and water animals
  • Assist with building and maintaining fencing / pens
  • Movement and handling of animals
  • Assist with calving and lambing duties



  • Assist with timber extraction, firewood production, packaging and delivering
  • Assist with charcoal production; kiln burns, packaging and delivering


Access and Education

  • Ability/desire to be involved in estate visits and educational access


Person Profile


Education / Qualifications         

  • Agricultural / land management qualification – desirable but not essential



  • Previous work experience in any of the following would be an advantage but not essential:
  • Rural / Woodland / Agriculture / Horticulture
  • Livestock care
  • Estate management / upkeep


Skills and attributes

  • Presentable and personable, helping to maintain and enhance the image of the estate when interacting with visitors and customers
  • Basic mechanics
  • Full clean driving licence - essential
  • Machinery – desirable
  • Tool operation skills – desirable
  • Tractor driving – desirable
  • Trailer licence – desirable
