Brilliant Butterfly Banks Project Officer

2 year fixed term contract. Full time (37 hours per week)

£24,307 - £28,083 (Grade C) plus 8% pension contribution


We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Brilliant Butterfly Banks partnership team working to transform the urban landscape within the London Borough of Croydon. This exciting project, funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, joins Butterfly Conservation with the London Wildlife Trust and The Natural History Museum to work with local people to create a ‘Living Landscape’ in the area, alive with butterflies, bees and wildflowers.


Based in the London area, you will work with the project partners to create and restore chalk downland, providing advice on management for butterflies and moths, delivering opportunities for the local community to learn about, enjoy and help the recovery of chalk downland.


The suitable candidate will need to have a good understanding of conservation within an urban context, as well as experience of delivering community engagement events within the conservation sector.
