Trainee Establishment Site Supervisor with JAH Forestry Ltd

 

The RFS is providing roles to help college leavers enter the professional forestry world. On top of a competitive first salary there is access to 2k of CPD funding and support towards RFS certification.
You must have a level 2 or level 3 award in forestry, arb or countryside management, finishing this year or last year.

 

Start September 2018

 

Purpose

 

You will be taught how to conduct establishment and maintenance works in a safe, professional and proficient manner with quality results, following industry best practices and customer satisfaction. In this junior management role, you will be involved in taking part of the forestry work and assisting the site supervisor with the daily operational activities of managing a group of forestry workers on an active site.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • This role will primarily involve training the fundamentals of tree planting, forest sapling maintenance activities and site supervision of forestry workers in the Establishment and Maintenance Contracting sector of the Forestry Industry.
  • You will use a variety of hand and mechanical tools when conducting forest establishment and maintenance work. It is essential to be organised and prepared for doing the work and having everything you need with you regarding food, drink and clothing. Work is done with a group of other forestry workers.
