Birmingham Parks Service is looking to recruit a suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated individual to compliment and complete the existing team of District Park Managers. You will be required to manage a diverse portfolio of parks, their assets, ground maintenance and associated development projects. You will act in a primary parks client role, liaising with stakeholders in order to provide the public face of the parks service within an assigned areas and constituencies. You will be responsible for all aspects of the management of Health and Safety within those park sites including any events and activities that take place within them.


You will manage the local parks team and budgets for a designated area along with particular operations and will liaise with local management teams and committees on all parks services. You must have experience of managing a diverse portfolio of parks and open spaces; delivering horticultural/premise/ecological & environmental projects; managing all aspects of Health and Safety in relation to parks and open spaces, performance management, applying targets and monitoring and reporting progress. There will be a requirement on occasions for out of hours attendance at meetings, e.g. of District and Ward Committees, User Groups, etc. You must hold a current driving licence.
