We now have an excellent opportunity for an ecologist to join our UK Farms Team. You will assist the Conservation Manager and contribute to the delivery of the Wildlife &Conservation Programme which aims to improve biodiversity and safeguard species on land owned by the charity, and demonstrate the mutually beneficial relationships between environment, donkeys and people.


We are looking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic candidate to fill this exciting new role. You will have the fieldwork experience and species expertise to assist with species monitoring projects, including botanical, bat and invertebrate surveys, and the attention to detail to undertake data entry and maintenance of databases. Working with farm teams you will assist with habitat management and creation projects, and you will have the aptitude and experience to coordinate high quality volunteer events.


A BSc or higher qualification in ecology, environmental science, conservation or equivalent and/or relevant experience working in ecology and conservation is essential, as are specialist field skills, a working knowledge of wildlife legislation and an understanding of the Environmental Stewardship Scheme.

Based in Sidmouth, Devon within an area of outstanding natural beauty, this is a full-time, permanent contract starting as soon as possible, working an average of 37.5 hours per week on an annualised hours basis.
