Assistant Forest Manager


The RFS is inviting applications for the post of “Assistant Forest Manager”.


This post has been created to aid the HE learner gain experience of the professional workplace. The employee will receive specialist training and CPD opportunities to assist and fast-track the development of the skillsets required to become an assistant forest manager, over the course of a one-year role. The successful applicant will have access to 10 days RFS funded CPD, as well as a small grant fund to help the learner relocate

Tim Shardlow - Head of Forestry Operations
Adam Todd - Royal Forestry Society


Main purpose of the job:


  • To assist the existing management team in the implementation for forestry contracts and Estates, within agreed acceptable levels of risk.
  • To assist in new business development.
  • Where appropriate to assist the Establishment/Fencing team in practical operations and in the process broaden your experience and knowledge base.
  • To acquire a broad understanding of the work of the Nicholson’s Forestry Division and the wider commercial area it operates within.
