Salary: 7,523.80 The national apprenticeship salary applies for the first 12 months of the role, thereafter the age-related national minimum wage will be paid


We are seeking to recruit a Sevenoaks Greensand Commons Project Apprentice on an 18 month fixed term contract to assist in the seasonal work activities required to fulfil the projects remit, in particular supporting the Conservation and Access Officer with restoring lowland heathland and improving access across the commons within the project.


The Sevenoaks Greensand Commons  project is a 4 year funded project with Sevenoaks District Council, Kent Wildlife Trust, The Heritage Lottery fund and a wealth of other partners, who all share a common goal in helping to restore the commons for people and wildlife.


This role is ideal if you have a passion for wildlife and conservation as we will help you to develop a broad knowledge of working within the industry, and gain many practical skills. In addition, you will study for a nationally recognised Level 2 Diploma qualification with Sparsholt College, Winchester. You will need to visit up to 7 times over the 18 month period for block academic periods staying there for 3- 5 days at a time during this period, reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and accommodation costs covered.


You will need good IT skills, be well organised, a good communicator and be customer focused. You will also need a flexible approach to working and you will be expected to develop your practical skills and to have a 'hands-on' approach to use of all relevant tools (subject to training). 


This role requires a full and clean driving licence and ideally access to your own vehicle as your role will be primarily based at the Council offices Argyle Road however, on occasions you will be expected to work outside on other non-project sites.
