Ecological Sciences Botanist

Fixed Term Contract (8 August - 27 September 2019)

Salary 17,172 per annum 

Aberdeen

 

The work undertaken by The James Hutton Group is right at the top of the global agenda tackling problems such as the impact of climate change and threats to food and water security.

 

We have a vacancy for a botanist to work on recording vegetation and habitat condition across a range of habitats, arable to moorland, and across much of Scotland. This work will take place from 5 August to 27 September.

 

You must have:

 

  • three years relevant experience
  • experience in different methods of recording
  • good identification skills
  • experience of working with others
  • excellent attention to detail

 

In addition you will ideally have, or be working towards a qualification in a related subject which will provide you with a fundamental level of knowledge in this area.

 

Although based at our Aberdeen site you will be required to travel and may be required to work away from home/overnight. You must be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
