Full time, 37 hours: 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday and working one weekend in four

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

Bracknell Forest Council Parks & Countryside service is responsible for more than 300 hectares of green spaces, ranging from SSSI meadows, heathlands and woodlands to play areas and sports pitches. Six sites currently hold Green Flag Awards and two of our historic parks have been restored with grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund.

Due to the proximity of the Thames Basin Heath SPA, any development within Bracknell requires Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) mitigation, be it delivery of new bespoke SANGs or enhancement of existing SANGs. The service works closely with developers to provide these new facilities as well as delivering enhancements which increase capacity of existing sites. This post will assist in the planning and be heavily involved with the delivery and subsequent management of these areas and projects.

Parks and Countryside have recently undergone a transformation review, with an emphasis on income generation and alternative more efficient ways of working. All staff are therefore encouraged to have an entrepreneurial spirit and consider business opportunities where possible.
