The Greater Gola Landscape straddles the Liberia/Sierra Leone border and comprises forest and agricultural land, totalling >460,000ha across the two countries.


We are seeking someone to advise, mentor and assist the Gola Rainforest Conservation (GRC) team to deliver Programme objectives, based at the Gola Rainforest Head Quarters in Kenema 70% time, and in Freetown 30% time.

This programme is an exciting long-term initiative supporting the management of the Critical landscape in Sierra Leone - Gola Rainforest National Park and buffer areas (totalling 140,000 ha). Gola Rainforest Conservation (GRGC) is non-profit Company formed in 2015 to manage the Gola Rainforest National Park, which is a certified voluntary REDD project. The company was formed through an equal partnership between The Government of Sierra Leone, the RSPB, the Conservation Society of Sierra Leone and local forest-edge communities.

You will have a strong interest in natural resources management, sustainable livelihoods, community-based approaches and capacity building.


Reporting to the Greater Gola Landscape Programme Manager, you will be responsible for advising the Head of the Gola Rainforest National Park, Gola Superintendents and Directors of the GRC in programme implementation planning and monitoring, administration, fiscal management and assisting implementation of the GRC goals and objectives.


The package includes 1 return flight per annum, insurance, and accommodation (including services).
