Scottish Woodlands Utilities Division are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager in the North of Scotland based out of our Muir of Ord Depot. Our Utilities Division works with main contracts for Network Rail and SSEN in the North region, therefore applicants with previous Rail and Powerline experience is considered a pre-requisite of the role along with previous forestry management experience.


Job Specification


  • Supervising vegetation clearance, fencing operations and all other aspects pertaining to forestry works within the business sector
  • Engage and supervise competent sub-contractor resource
  • Manage health and safety on site and facilitate client visits
  • Scope and Price works as per Framework Contract
  • Attend project interface meetings with Client
  • Line managing a team of Forestry Operatives


Experience and Qualifications


To be successful for this role, you will ideally have previous experience in a similar role working in the utility forestry sector, rail sector and/or have forestry knowledge and expertise.  You will be self-motivated, with excellent communication and organisational skill and will have proven experience of managing and leading teams.  You should be familiar with the Highland Region as you will be responsible for forestry operations within this area.  As a large part of the role involves driving to remote locations, it is essential that you hold a full driverís licence.


Due to the nature of this job you will be expected to attend regular medical examination including drug and alcohol screening.
