The Peak District National Park Authority is seeking a motivated person with knowledge and experience of tree management and excellent interpersonal skills to join our busy Directorate of Planning & Conservation and contribute to the protection and enhancement of the special landscapes of the National Park. You will provide specialist tree conservation advice, support and guidance both internally and externally, and help the Directorate deliver an effective and integrated conservation advice service.


Your work will include responding to tree enquiries across the National Park, including the 109 Conservation Areas and trees covered by Tree Preservation Orders; liaising with tree owners to achieve good outcomes for tree management, landscape and amenity benefits, health & safety, neighbour relations and wildlife; and ensuring compliance with legislation. You will also recommend new Tree Preservation Orders in exceptional circumstances where voluntary measures are not achieved.


You will contribute towards the further development of the advisory service, including income-generating activity, and will explore new opportunities for developing training and outreach activities.
