You will be joining RSPB Scotland’s Giving Nature a Home team to deliver environmental education across Edinburgh. We have been delivering a project in Edinburgh for 5 years connecting communities and schools with their local green spaces and wildlife.

The schools outreach officer will be delivering work across primary schools in Edinburgh and connecting children with nature in their schools grounds and surrounding area. For this post we are seeking a confident, organised environmental educator with the ability to hit the ground running. This role requires managing a volunteer team and delivering in schools. You will deliver a programme of visits connecting children to nature in their school grounds, helping children discover wildlife first hand, which you will organise and promote. You will be in charge of volunteer recruitment and management, project delivery and evaluation. You will need to be passionate about nature, experienced as an educator, and with a working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland. This role requires you to be highly organised and motivated as you will be working to targets, as our aim is to engage with as many school children as possible by the end of the next school year. For this reason you must be a passionate educator, a car driver, a confident organiser, and target driven.

If you fit this profile, then you may be the person we are looking for to deliver our Schools Outreach Project in Edinburgh. Please take a look at www.rspb.org.uk/vacancies for more information.
