Employment Basis: 22.5 hours per week 12 month contract

 

The River Garnock runs through a fascinating landscape, steeped in history and containing a rich industrial heritage. The Garnock Connections project has been established to reveal and enhance this wealth of industrial and natural heritage, as well as providing an opportunity for local people to connect to their special landscape.

 

As part of this project we are looking to recruit a passionate and committed individual who can inspire local people about the amazing wildlife of the Garnock Connections landscape, and encourage them to get involved in surveying and recording that wildlife.

 

The successful candidate will assist in organising and delivering a series of wildlife recording training events, assist in developing an online recording system and support local biodiversity recorders. There will also be be the opportunity to take part in a range of other activities including practical ecological surveys and community engagement events. We are looking for an individual who has good communication skills with an ability to engage with a range of different audiences. You will also need to be able to work well as part of a team and have the enthusiasm to get involved in a range of different activities.

  

This post is a training placement as part of the Garnock Connections Heritage Trainees Project. The post is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Green Infrastructure Community engagement Fund.
