Exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and friendly team delivering environmental education for all ages at The Box Moor Trust, a charity that manages land in Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead for the public benefit.   


This varied role focuses on the delivery of environmental education to school, pre-school, uniform and interest groups, right through to adult learners and assisting in the planning for such events.  You will also be required to assist in planning, leading and evaluating regular forest schools sessions for visiting schools.  A large amount of the work will be outside exploring our countryside with children.   


The successful candidate will need to have experience of teaching in the outdoor environment, an understanding of health & safety requirements and welfare issues of working with young people, competence in completing risk assessments and a proven broad-based knowledge of the natural world. Effective organisational and administrative skills and a good understanding of working with schools essential.  Other requirements are a clean driving licence and a current paediatric first aid certificate (or willingness to attend course).  If Forest School Training Level 3 has not been attained, candidates must be willing to undertake training.


The Trust has 500 acres of hugely varying and exciting habitats. If you have a passion for wildlife and a determination to pass that passion on to others, then this could be the job for you.


Hours on average 21 per week, but will vary and include day, evening and weekend work.

Pay range up to 21,000 pro rata, dependent on experience.
