JBA Consulting would love to speak to Ecologists and Senior Ecologists who are interested in working in exciting new roles in our expanding business.  We have several exciting opportunities to join our teams in Doncaster, Exeter, Peterborough, Tadcaster, Limerick and Dublin. We also have a vacancy for a specialist Bat Ecologist in our Ecology hub in Doncaster.

You will be expected to contribute towards ecological surveys and associated reporting at a variety of sites and locations.  You will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff members and inputting to bids/tenders and business development tasks. Previous consultancy experience of ecological survey work is essential.


JBA Consulting’s ecology teams work to ensure our clients’ many needs are met whilst preserving and enhancing the natural environment.  With a focus particularly on the water environment and its management, including protected wetlands, rivers and ditch systems; we specialise in exceeding clients’ expectations through negotiation and relationship building with local and national authorities, whilst maintaining our independence and objectivity.


The ideal candidate will have a first degree in an ecology or related discipline and CIEEM membership, or similar.  You will be both technically knowledgeable to a level sufficient to meet the above requirements and be able to demonstrate fluency and consistency in verbal and written English, in both technical and plain English writing styles, and have excellent interpersonal skills.  You will also be able to demonstrate a good ecological skillset and have undertaken extensive ecological survey work.  Computer literacy, especially with a thorough competence in Microsoft Office is essential (ideally with experience of ArcGIS or another GIS package). Because we work across the UK and Ireland, a full driving licence is essential.
