For the Your Shore Beach Ranger Project


This is a great opportunity for an excellent communicator and highly organised individual to join Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the leading local charity working to protect and enhance Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places.


The Your Shore Beach Ranger Project aims to enable communities and the general public to learn about and develop an understanding and appreciation of Cornwall’s marine environment by increasing access to, and engagement with, Cornwall’s Marine Conservation Groups. The Project aims to specifically work with young people (Beach Rangers aged 16-24) to build their confidence, teamwork, communication and other life skills whilst promoting marine environmental issues and raising awareness of Cornwall’s marine environment.


The Community Engagement Officer will work within the Your Shore Beach Ranger Project team to form sustainable community organisations (local Marine Conservation Groups) within key geographical areas to further the conservation of the marine environment within these locations in the long term, whilst also providing support to recruit, train and manage Your Shore Beach Rangers within the new and existing local Marine Conservation Groups.


Two year 4 months fixed term contract, full time (37.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri), immediate start

Based at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Allet, Truro, TR4 9DJ

Salary £24,000pa
